The theatrical and the mythic easily overlap and have always been integral to each others development, and as a means of understanding  and defining  the world around us. Gerard   has always been attracted to the narrative possibilities of myth whether through the theatre , Shakespeare , poetry or classical myth ; and, like many artists, he regularly use these sources as a means of stimulating his  work beyond the everyday.
